Go Nuts Book Club (or Wild Thangs??)
Yesterday evening was the second meeting of the Book Nuts Book Club that meets at the Seguin library the fourth Monday of each month (we switched to the 5th Monday in November due to Thanksgiving preparations and celebrations).
This is a group of ladies (men are welcome!) who love books, who love to discuss books, who talk about everything connected with books – and topics not related in the slightest to books – who enjoy one another – and enjoy life.
Last night we admittedly got off the subject (which was the book!) a few times, but only because discussion of this book (Three Cups of Tea) triggered this thought and that thought – which led to another thought – which led to peals of laughter. It was a great time. JOIN US!
If yesterday evening was any indication, perhaps we should change the name of the club to “Wild Thangs,” though!
Our book choice for January is The Art of Racing in the Wind and February’s selection is – what one member stated – “The Potatoes Book” – translated as The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.
Good books. Good discussion. Hearty laughs . . . and good companionship.
Note: if you would prefer a book club with a little more decorum – shucks, we can do that, too. We can be very ladylike; if gentlemen wish to join, we promise to be on our best behavior at all times. All times – I guess . . .
