Bullying Prevention

I somehow missed National Bullying Prevention Week, October 4th through the 10th.  Although my parenting days are over, I care deeply about my grandchildren – how they are treated and how they behave.

I realize that bullying has been going on for some time (probably always) – but that doesn’t make it ‘right.’

By definition, bullying involves repetition; a child is repeatedly the target of taunts or physical attacks — or, in the case of so-called indirect bullying (more common among girls), rumors and social exclusion. For a successful anti-bullying program, the school needs to survey the children and find out the details — where it happens, when it happens.  [At Last, Facing Down Bullies (and Their Enablers)]
