Shiprock and Navajo on horseback
A snapshot of this photograph does not do it justice. Also, there was some damage to it in the 1998 flood (couldn’t have it re-framed because the back is holding steadfast to the mounting).
Our oldest son was up at the crack of dawn when we were visiting in Farmington, New Mexico in order to drive to the Shiprock Monument area for some photography. He shot some very good photographs. This is one of my favorites: if you look closely, you can see – down in the valley – one lone Navajo on horseback.
I love this photo!
