so many books – so little time

Hopefully It Happened on Fifth Avenue will be available on DVD in my lifetime.  It is such a charming film!  I’m also looking for books by Herbert Clyde Lewis – but either the books are out of my price range or unavailable (that doesn’t mean I will stop trying!).

An e-mail has been circulating throughout the internet regarding rules for 2010.  The e-mail entitled “2010 Handbook” contains some very good common-sense advice.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Shortly after we moved to Seguin, Dear Houston Friends visited and stayed at the Weinert House Bed and Breakfast; that must have been about eleven years ago.

Well, the bed and breakfast is back!  Mike Heckmann opened this beautiful home once again as a bed and breakfast.  A group of bridge players and bunco enthusiasts have had meetings at this establishment and I think one wedding group also utilized the Weinert House.

The house is so lovely and as those of us in Seguin already know:  Heckmann (owner of All Occasions Catering) provides delicious food and service.

This home has historical value (history that is interesting whether one is a native Seguinite or not).

A marvelous addition to Seguin.

Two Thousand Nine was filled with blessings (some tears, of course – some laughter).

I am so grateful for my family and my friends – some of whom I’ve met and engaged with via the internet (who would have thought we would be communicating instantly with just a click of the fingers??  Not I – coming from a generation that, in the 1950s, was jitterbugging in the corner drugstore to music from a colorful jukebox – listening to 78rpm records).

Best wishes to my family and all my friends as we end 2009 and enter a Brand New Year with limitless possibilities.

May God richly bless all of you.
